About the employer / working context

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Tanker Mooring/Loading and Unmooring Operations.

Advise both the pilots (distance and speed) and the ship’s crew and mooring launch (rope and chain handling) during mooring and unmooring operations.
Directly supervise vessel staff during the connection and disconnection of the loading hoses at the tanker manifold.

Safe tanker loading operations.
Monitor tanker-loading operations during periods of rest of the pilot. Monitor Single Point Mooring (SPM) distance and wind/weather conditions. Monitor safe loading operations. Call pilot when in doubt.

Maintenance of Single Point Mooring incl. mooring gear and hoses.
Responsible for hose lifting assembly on the Single Point Mooring (SPM).
Work and material preparation in marine workshop.
Loading of gear on Single Point Mooring (SPM) launch.
Execution of routine planned Single Point Mooring maintenance and breakdown maintenance. Stock and spares control in the workshop.

Maintenance of navigation equipment and lagoon lights.
Monthly inspection, maintenance and repair of lagoon and Nyanga navigational marks.

Maintenance of marine Oil spill clearance equipment.
Monthly inspection and preventative maintenance of all oil spill containment and clearance equipment.

Job Qualifications & Skills / Selection Criteria

Diploma in marine or any technical discipline. Minimum of BAC + 2 or BAC + 3 (DTS,BTS,DUT,DEUG,DIT,LP)

Minimum of 2 years experience in tanker loading operations.

Technical knowledge of Single Point Mooring (SPM) and equipment.

Trustworthy to work in remote locations without supervision.
